About me....

Born in Taupo, I’ve always had a bit of an adventurous streak. I spent years bouncing between three cities in Australia before diving into the UK scene, camera always in hand, chasing new places and stories. Eventually, I found my way to Christchurch, where my husband and I now run The Sparkes Photography Co., capturing love in all its wild and wonderful forms. We’ve been shooting weddings part-time for the past three years, preserving all the big, loud, and tear-jerking moments that make up a wedding day.

But nothing quite prepares you for the whirlwind of becoming a parent. Experiencing the incredible and, at times, challenging journey of pregnancy, birth, and those first months of holding my baby in my arms made me realise just how extraordinary our bodies are. The way they grow, nourish, and sustain life—it’s pure magic. And it’s a privilege to document that magic for others.

We only get to experience pregnancy and watch our families grow once. The days may feel long, but the years fly by, and those little details—the way your baby curls into you, the giggles, the chaos, the fleeting in-between moments—deserve to be remembered. That’s where I come in.

I’m here to capture you—your beautiful bump, your tiny, perfect newborn, or the true, unfiltered personality of your family. No awkward poses, no forced smiles. Just real, honest, joy-filled moments doing what you love—whether that’s picking pipis at the beach, tearing through the woods on BMX bikes, or getting covered in mud with your kids.
